Journey of a Groningen Girl
Hi Everyone,
I recently returned from Bali, having a highly successful launch in Ubud. The venue for the launch was the Anhera Hotel, a beautiful place in the centre of Ubud situated where the main focus of the festival activity occurred. That was very encouraging to begin with! A few days into the festival, banners started to appear and on the Anhera Hotel, a banner with the Lost Sister appeared, which was very moving for Malcolm and I. We really wished Anneke had been there to see…

I HAD been told but, although it feels like I'm standing still, on the other hand, I may have too many fingernails in too many Dutch-Australian "pies" (stroopwafels?).

I have not yet read the book, but will try to do so soon.
The story sound fascinatingly similar to my own.
I would like to talk to the sisters. I wonder if that is possible.

The Lost Sister of Groningen will be launched in October in 2011 at the Ubud International Writers and Readers Festival in Bali. I am very fortunate to launch my book there as they only accept 15 books in the Launch Program. I will detail more information as it comes to hand. It is very rewarding for both Malcolm and I!!

I have had a busy few weeks. The Rembrandt Holland Festival was a fantastic afternoon and I enjoyed meeting other authors and writers who have contributed in documenting other Dutch Migrant stories. On the 30th April I will again be on the DACC…

German Singer, Goetz Widmann and Artist, Malcolm Jones have collaborated on a song about Anneke, called 'There Aint Many Like Annie'. Typically the song is quite quirky! The lyrics are posted on this site. Goetz has offered to play the song at the Dutch Launch! I am hoping in the future there will be a recording!…

Radio Netherlands has published an article and interview about the book on rnw.nl on the dutch page of that site. Wendy Braanker has written a wonderful article. I have links on the right hand side of my home page for the Dutch version and the English translation.
