Dancing Under The Sky Exhibition and Launch of 'The Sky Is My Religion'

An Art Exhibiton based on themes derived and inspired from my poetry volume, The Sky Is My Religion. A wonderful collaboration between Balinese and Australian artists, writers and designers. Grand Opening October 4th, Ubud, 6pm-till late!

This is an unoffical fringe event during the Ubud Readers and Writers Festival and features both Australian and Balinese artists. Opening with dance performances, gamelan, and poetry performances.The exhibiton is is programmed for a month, and will have workshops, talks and poetry perfomances throughout October and the exhibtion will also include installations and digital film. An all round  'Art Happening' ! Artists include painters, Wayan Meja, Eka Partama Gilo, Malcolm Jones, Gusti Putu Seteja, Mega Sari, and sculptor Wayan Wina. Music by Kadek Ferry and dance co-ordinator Mayoumi Inouye. Designers Agus Astradahi and Caitlin Jones will also be exhibiting and designing concepts including costume.

The Exhibition will be opened by Australian writer and poet, Libby Hathorn National Ambassador for the Australian National Year Of Reading, and participant in 2012 of Ubud Readers and Writers Festival. In the true spirit of collaboration, Desak Made Yuniantari, Program Officer, for Indonesian Language Services at the Indonesian Australian Language Foundation, Denpasar will MC!

Launch of the new edition poetry volume 'The Sky is My Religion' by Nell Jones, with book covers painted by Wayan Meja and Eka Partama. The exhibition will run from the 1st October-30th October 2012.
