Journey of a Groningen Girl
Comment
Anneke and I both stayed in Bonegilla, when we arrived in Australia. (Long time ago.)
We both ended up being teachers and both taught at Mascot Public School.
Her husband and I both exhibited paintings at the Tap Gallery, in Darlinghurst.
Their son and I both attended high school in the same building in Randwick.
If only I could report that their daughter and I both wrote a book. But only Nell did that and there ARE connections but less to do with what we did. It's more: location.
It is NOT as though this is all to be expected.
Anneke came from Groningen I came from Gouda. In the Netherlands that was quite a distance apart by Dutch standards.
We were all in these locations that we have in common at quite different times.
(Let's not even mention the vaguer connection via NIDA or the street where Annie and Malcolm live!!!)
