The Lost Sister

Journey of a Groningen Girl

Anneke and Nell attend the Dutch-Australian Genealogy Group's meet-up............

I HAD been told but, although it feels like I'm standing still, on the other hand, I may have too many fingernails in too many Dutch-Australian "pies" (stroopwafels?).

At the last minute, before attending yesterday's bi-monthly meet-up of the Dutch Australian Genealogy Group, I decided to leave my video and still cameras, at home.

I was really proud that I resisted the temptation to take them, because as someone at the meet-up confirmed, I'm rarely seen without them.

So Murphy and his law were right by my side again, because I had I had a better look in my iMac, just before I left, I would have known that Nell and Anneke would be there and, of course, I would have liked to record the event.

Even though I HAVE already recorded Nell (and Anneke) on video, talking about the book, a video of yesterday's explanation, to an audience of genealogists, who have varying degrees of connections with the Netherlands (Perhaps born there. Perhaps, grandchild of a Dutch-Australian, perhaps married to a Dutch-born person, perhaps simply interested) would have been good to have because, of course, the explanation was suited to THAT audience.

Nevertheless, having attended these meet-ups for some time now, (Having given a talk about doing my 5th trip back to the Netherlands, not THAT long ago), I can assure you that Nell's explanation was VERY well received. Simply connecting.
